Extended inhumations of probable Early Christian date in stone-lined graves were found during the building of the White House south of the harbour in the 1930's (Cooney 1993, 27). Geophysical survey (Licence no. 12R078) of the White house garden was carried out by The Discovery Programme for the LIARI Project but did not identify anything of archaeological interest (Dowling 2014, 12).
