What is recorded here

This is located to the south of a tillage field known as the 'Motte field' west and north of a lane that leads to a nunnery (DU007-015001-). Known as the nun's road it is now filled with agricultural detritus. In the 1992 report the 'motte' was a small, round-topped mound (diam. 11m; H 1.6m) within pasture, partially truncated by a field boundary, which extends east-west. Believed to have been ploughed out but some remains have been incorporated into the field boundary. Compiled by: Geraldine Stout Updated by: Christine Baker Date of upload: 29 November 2014
