The I. T. A. Survey (1944) describes -. Nearly at Miss Keogh’s house is a very ancient stone building with a stone roof some 5ft thick at the apex. The building resembles an old chapel with its niches + alcoves and occupies a position of close proximity to the church that doubtless it may have been a monastic structure. Not precisely located. The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.

The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
