A ring ditch (12.4m diam.) was excavated (Licence no. 04E0741) in advance of development. Located just over 200m southwest of flat cemetery (DU005-131----), the ring ditch was characterised by the deposition of two concentrations of prehistoric pottery and cremated bone-a total of 697 sherds of pottery, equivalent to at least nineteen Late Bronze age vessels. A calibrated radiocarbon date of 1010-810 BC was recovered from a context that contained 141 pottery sherds, cremated bone and animal bone (Carroll et al. 2008, 72).
