What is recorded here

One of two similar structures (see also DU005-120002-) excavated in advance of road construction (Licence no. 08E054), interpreted as part of a medieval settlement (c. 420m NW-SE by 180m) linked to the manor of Bremore or Balrothery. Defined by a truncated foundation trench, the remains measured 17.8m by 1.8m in width. Removal of stone collapse revealed an interior metalled surface. Stratified medieval pottery (late 12th – mid-14th century) and intrusive post-medieval pottery recovered. Associated yard and drainage features (Bailey and Kavanagh 2010, 14).
