A horizontal mill was found in 1848 during drainage works at Milverton Demesne. Several dams of clay were exposed and a millshaft into which were morticed 'eight large wooden spoons'. With the mill were found two small grindstones (O'Donovan 1859, 252; Lucas 1953 3-4, 34-35). Not precisly located.
