What is recorded here

The precise location of a kiln (Kill House) in townland of Garristown has not been identified. The 1654-56 Civil Survey of Dublin recorded stated that in Garristown on the lands of William Talbot of Robertstown, Co. Meath an Irish Papist, there stood; 'one Chaff house [DU003-011012-] one Barne [DU003-011011-] & a kill house valued by ye Jury at three poundes, one garden plott' (Simington 1945, 17). The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.

The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
