The precise location of a dovecote on the estate of Bremore Castle (DU002-002001-) has not been identified. In an inquisition of 1567 the estate at Bremore is stated to have consisted of ‘a castle, 8 messuages or buildings, a dovecote, 8 gardens and 132 acres’ and to have been held by Edward Barnewall of Drimnagh [DU018-036----], ‘as of his manor of Balrothery’ (Kelly and Cogan et. al. 2013, 24).

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
