What is recorded here

Herity 1995, 92 records that the rectangular foundations of this leacht ‘1.50m north-west/south-east and 1.75m south-west/north-east, are marked on the north-east and north-west sides by regular flat slabs. Cross-slab 04 [DG089-018007-] of schist, stands upright close to the centre.’ Lying loose on the leacht is a stone described by Herity (ibid, 98, No. 03b) as having ‘maximum dimensions 43 x 25cm and 7cm in thickness, with one well marked notch, 2cm deep, on one long face and with what may be the remains of a weathered notch, 6cm deep, in one of the short sides. Possibly the remains of a socket-stone for one of the cross-slabs.’ Compiled by: Paul Walsh Date of upload: 2 February 2014
