What is recorded here

Unlocated holy well within the townland of Anny Far and Near that was recorded by Ó Muirgheasa (No. 86) in 1936 and described as, 'near by at Anney there is a well on the seashore, now washed by the tide, whose waters are regarded as a cure for headache' (Ó Muirgheasa 1936, 156). According to Logan this well was known as, 'Tobar na Suil' or the "the Well of the Eyes," (Logan 1992, 60). Logan, P. (1992) The Holy Wells of Ireland. The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.

The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
