Burial ground in Bredagh Glen

A rough piece of overgrown ground, c. 2m x 6m, is known as a burial ground (M.R. Colhoun). The above description was derived from the 'Archaeological Survey of County Donegal. A description of the field antiquities of the County from the Mesolithic Period to the 17th century.' Date of upload: 22 September 2008 NGR 25926 44136 Excavation licence No. 04E1691 It is proposed to build two single-storey houses with separate access roads, septic tanks and percolation areas on two individual adjacent sites at Bredagh Glen, Moville. The site of the proposed development is near a burial ground. Eight trenches were excavated across the two sites, focusing on the locations of the proposed houses, accesses and septic tank/percolation areas. All of the trenches excavated measured 10m long and 1.6m wide. There was no evidence of archaeological activity on the site.
