The following description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Carlow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1993). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 17 July 2007 Aerial photograph (GSI S 279) shows ringfort divided by field boundary. Approximately circular area (diam. c. 30m) enclosed by stone and gravelly earth bank with boulder facing (H 0.7-1.0m; Wth 1m). Original entrance at SSE (Wth 1.3m). Interior shows some evidence of former, possible original, divisions: (1) line of boulders (L 3m) suggests foundation of wall running N from close to entrance; (2) oval area adjacent to bank at SE defined by large boulders and bulge in bank at SE. To N of field boundary, site is levelled except at E, but is visible as soil mark in recently ploughed field.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
