The following description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Carlow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1993). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 17 July 2007 According to Ffrench (JRSAI 1904, 347-8, 351) 'two or three cut stones are the only vestiges of the oratory of Ard Briton …' Photograph by ffrench shows portion of rebated jamb probably of limestone. Appears to have been of medieval date. Not located.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.

The map shows only the centre of the wider government map area. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
