What is recorded here

According to McDonald (Carloviana 1981, 13) the church (CW009-034----) is said to have been founded by Croine Beg about AD 550. Circular area (diam. 42m) defined by very low bank (H 0.1-0.2m; Wth c. 1m) appears to be the graveyard (CW009-034002-) which is depicted on the 1839 'OS 6-inch' map as a triangular area and on the later ed. as a roughly circular area. No visible trace of church. See also mound (CW009-043001-). Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 19 August 2011

This remains an important historical record, but the official description says the monument is no longer visible or has been destroyed.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
