What is recorded here

The following description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Carlow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1993). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of revision: 21 December 2009 Revised by: J. Farrelly In the northern sector of a roughly square graveyard (CW009-032002-), a rectangular structure of roughly coursed and mortared granite boulders aligned E-W (dims. 11.8m x 6.2m), with remains of lower courses of E, S and W walls, and foundations of N wall. Small piscina in S wall close to SE corner, with outlet into wall. Probable entrance W of centre in S wall. Dividing wall in mid-nave and small extention to N wall probably connected with burial activity.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
