A deserted medieval borough known as Castlemore, Forth or Forth O' Nolan. Established c. 1174 on the marriage of Basilia, Strongbow's sister to Raymond le Gros. Second in size only to Carlow but abandoned in late fourteenth/fifteenth centuries. Present remains consist of a large motte and bailey (CW008-033001-) and a graveyard (CW008-033003-), possibly the site of the former parish church (CW008-033002-).
