Partially excavated in advance of construction of the N9/N10 Kilcullen-Waterford Road (Excavation Licence number E2589). On flat ground that gently sloped eastwards towards the N. Thirty burnt pits of varying size and shape, were uncovered. Interpreted as possible charcoal-production pits. An early medieval date was obtained from a sample of charcoal from one of the pits.
