The following description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Carlow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1993). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.

Arms of Wall and Walsh families, date 1630 and the words 'ULLICKE WALE IYAN WAILSHE, THE LORD IS MY STREINHE' found in garden of Pollerton House and subsequently built into wall. Said to have come originally from wall over hall door of old Pollardstown House, which stood at the rear of the more recent house of same name (demolished c 1972). Cargan (Kernanstown), Pollerton, Urghlin and Johnstown are shown as belonging to Wall family on Down Survey; stone may alternatively have come from nearby Cargan Castle (CW007-008----). Now in Carlow Museum.
