The following description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Carlow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1993). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 19 August 2011 Three burials discovered within metres of each other during bulldozing at site of Carlow sugar factory in 1955. Burial 1: cremated bone with inverted vase urn in small pit. Burial 2: cremated bone with inverted encrusted urn in pit with rough covering of stones. Burial 3: cremated bones with inverted encrusted urn in polygonal cist (Carloviana 1955, 22).
