What is recorded here

The site lay on the side of a hill which slopes down to boggy ground and c. 45m NE of a stream. It comprised a semicircular spread of burnt sandstone and charcoal, the outer limits of which are visible. The spread lay 0.1m below sod and was 0.1m-0.15m deep. The stones had average measurements of c. 0.05m. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cavan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1995). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 22 December 2008
