Situated on a slight rise on W shore of Mullagh Lough. An O'Reilly castle built in 1485, granted to King James in 1605 and subsequently repaired as the manor house of Sir William Taaffe's plantation estate. It was abandoned during the Cromwellian period. No visible remains at ground level. (Davies 1947a, 98-9)
