Levelled in the late 1970s. An earlier report (OPW 1974) described a raised circular area (int. diam. c. 38m) enclosed by a substantial earthen bank and a wide, deep fosse. Break in bank at NE with accompanying causeway represented original entrance. At that time, possible traces of a souterrain were noticed within the internal area (CV031-002002-). The outline of the perimeter of the rath may still be traced, albeit with difficulty.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cavan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1995). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
