Raised circular area (int. diam. 39m) enclosed by two earthen banks with wide, deep, waterlogged intermediate fosse. The external bank is slight; the inner much more substantial. Original entrance at SSE represented by corresponding breaks in banks accompanied by causeway. Break in outer bank has been narrowed in relatively recent times.
