Raised circular area (int. diam. 36m) enclosed by a substantial earthen bank and a fosse. Earlier descriptions (OPW 1969 and 1970) noted a break in the bank with accompanying causeway at NW which may represent original entrance. Within the internal area are the remains of a possible souterrain (CV021-019002----). Site is situated within a plantation of deciduous trees.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cavan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1995). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
