Built into the wall above the N doorway of the modern Catholic church at Castleterra. Apparently a male head with bulging eyes, squat nose and plain unsmiling mouth. Arm comes from behind the head on the left-hand side. Four fingers are used to open the mouth. The thumb is turned upwards. The head may have come from the early church site c. 25m to W (CV021-006002-). Davies (1948, 80) described it as a 'grotesque of the 15th or 16th century'.
