An earlier report (OPW 1968) described a slightly raised circular area (int. dims. 54m WNW-ESE; 52m NNE-SSW) enclosed by a much-disturbed low earthen bank and slight traces of a fosse. Original entrance may have been at S. Known as 'The Fort Field'. The outline of the site may still be traced.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cavan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1995). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
