Raised circular area (int. diam. 26m) enclosed by a substantial earthen bank and a fosse which is wide, shallow and waterlogged and identifiable only from SW-W-NE. From ESE-SSW the bank has been modified and is surmounted by a modern field boundary. Wide break in bank at NNW probably represents original entrance.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cavan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1995). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
