An earlier report (OPW 1968) described a raised oval area (int. dims. c. 38m NW-SE; c. 28m ENE-WSW) enclosed by a low earthen bank and fosse. Break in bank with accompanying causeway at WSW presumably marked original entrance. Site has since been levelled.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cavan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1995). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
