Raised circular area (int. diam. 35.2m) enclosed by a wide, deep fosse and substantial earthen bank. Although both bank and fosse have been levelled from E-S-SW and partially replaced by a field boundary from E-SE-S, the outline of the perimeter is still identifiable from S-SW. Original entrance may have been at N. 'Castle Bagshaw' (CV010-008----) was situated either within or in close proximity to the site.
