According to Davies (1948, 98) this is an ancient graveyard, although nothing is known of its history. The enclosing wall appears to be relatively modern. Nonetheless there are many small stones protruding above the surface of the graveyard which presumably represent early grave-markers. Otherwise no visible remains.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cavan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1995). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
