What is recorded here

Situated on a narrow terrace on N-facing slope of ridge of outcropping rock. N side of tomb incorporated in townland boundary fence. Wedge-shaped chamber (L 3.75m; Wth 1.9m at W end, 0.9m at E) is open to WSW. N and S sides decrease in height W->E, each represented by one slab; E end closed by inset backstone. Single roofstone covers E end of chamber. No indications of surrounding mound. (Roberts 1988, Ch. 2, No. 37; O Nualláin 1989, 135). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 1: West Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1992).
