What is recorded here

According to Healy (1988, 199), Inane Castle was located 'on the west side of Ringarogy Island'. The site of the castle may be close to the late 18th/early 19th-century corn store (CO150-001----) and part of it may be incorporated into the quay and sea wall of the corn store (pers. comm. Connie Kelleher). The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 5' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009). Date of upload: 22 December 2009

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.

The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
