What is recorded here

In pasture, on a S-facing slope. According to local information, this field is known as the 'keel field'. 'Keel' is possibly a form of the Irish word 'cillíneach' which means a childern's burial ground. There are, however, no visible remains of any burial ground at ground level. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 5' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009). Date of upload: 22 December 2009

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
