What is recorded here

In pasture, atop hillock with commanding view in all directions. Circular enclosure (34.5m N-S; 25.5m E-W) defined by dry stone wall (H 1.1m; Wth 1.6m); narrow entrance (Wth 1.5m) to SW. In centre, sod-covered foundations of rectangular structure (10m E-W; 7.6m N-S) with low D-shaped platform (8.6m E-W; 9m N-S) adjoining S wall. This latter may be site of a children's burial ground (CO141-029002-) marked on O.S. map (1944); also possibly remains of small church (CO141-029003-). Low rectangular mound in NW quadrant (H 0.25m; 5.4m NE-SW; 2.5m SE-NW); two recumbent stones just inside enclosing wall to N.
