In rough pasture, on a gentle NE-facing slope. Archaeological monitoring of a drain in advance of afforestation, in 2008, exposed remains of a mound of material comprising burnt stone and flecks of charcoal. The drain (av. D 0.3m) cut through the mound. A burial ground (CO140-011----) lies c. 50m to the S. (O'Mahony 2008, 1-5) The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
