What is recorded here

In rough pasture, in the NE corner of a field on a rocky S-facing slope. A rectangular area (c. 14m N-S; c. 10m E-W) enclosed by a stone wall (T 0.6m; H 0.8m) is, according to local information, a 'cill' or children's burial ground. The entrance is in the S wall. Examination of the interior was impossible due to dense undergrowth. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 5' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009). Date of upload: 22 December 2009

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
