What is recorded here

According to local information, site of burial ground. Area (12m E-W; 8m N-S) defined by E-W field fence to N, slight scarp (H 0.3m) to E. Seven stones aligned E-W set in ground; two aligned N-S. Also piles of loose stones, possibly clearance dumps. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 1: West Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1992). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 14 January 2009
