What is recorded here

On S side of river Fealge where river changes direction from W-E to N-S; on narrow rocky promontory; overlooking undulating pastureland to N and E. Shown on O.S. map (1842) as 'in ruins'. No visible surface trace. According to O'Donoghue (1986, 103) 'a small castle of the O'Heas'. Mill complex (CO135-009002) to NE. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 1: West Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1992).
