What is recorded here

In rough hill pasture, on a NE-SW terrace, on the NW-facing slopes of Gouladane, overlooking Bantry Bay. The remains of a rectangular hut site (3m E-W; 2m N-S) defined by the lower, well-built, horizontally set courses of a partially collapsed stone wall (T 0.65m; H 0.8m). The entrance (Wth 0.6m) is at the NE corner. Rubble is scattered in the interior and ferns obscure the entire hut site. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 5' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009). Date of upload: 22 December 2009
