What is recorded here

In a farmyard, on a S-facing slope overlooking the mouth of Bantry Bay. In the course of reconstruction work in the farmyard some years ago the ground collapsed revealing underground passages (H c. 1.25m). It was not possible to examine the passages and they were subsequently covered over. A possible rath (CO127-038001-) and a children's burial ground (CO127-038002-) lie c. 100m to the SSW. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 5' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009). Date of upload: 22 December 2009

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
