In rough hill pasture, on cutaway bog, on the N-facing slopes of Dursey Island. Turf-cutting has exposed a series of collapsed, relict stone field boundaries (T 0.6m; H 0.3m) which extend in a general WNW-ESE direction from a high cliff-top up along the heather-covered hillside for a distance of c. 130m. The relict field boundaries are set on the underlying mineral soil. At intermittent intervals the stones from the relict walls have been rearranged to make rectangular turf stands for stacking turf. These latter structures are now abandoned.
