On E side of Oyster Haven. Building shown on 1842 OS 6-inch map no longer survives. Structure to W shown on 1898 OS 6-inch map, was burnt in 1920s, now in ruins. Roofless, 2-storey, 4-bay building (long axis NE-SW); rectangular tower projections with slit windows at NW and SE corners, making ground plan Z-shaped. Two-storey structure to SW known locally as 'Officer's house and Boat house' with accommodation for officers at 1st floor and boat house at ground floor level. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 2: East and South Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1994).
