On Argideen river just E of Shannon Vale. Gabled, L-shaped 4-storey structure. Corn mill surrounded by later mill buildings. Wheel pit along W side; housed very large cast iron breast-shot waterwheel. Recently, mill complex was powered by turbines (one still in situ). Mill race dry; mill pond overgrown. Private branch line connected mill to Clonakilty Railway Line. Shannonvale House to N, L-shaped, 5-storey, 3-bay gable ended residence.
