What is recorded here

This church was referred to in the 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork - vol. 2 East and South Cork' (1994, 256-7) under the entry (no. 5680) for a graveyard (CO112-013002-). The reference to the church in the entry reads'….. contained parish church of Ballyfeard which was in ruins by 1615 (Brady 1863, vol. 1, 27) and described as 'almost level with the ground' in 1704 (ibid, 28), by 1860 there was no trace of it in the graveyard (ibid, 29).' The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 2: East and South Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1994). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 14 January 2009
