In pasture on S-facing slope overlooking stream. Rectangular area (28m N-S; 26m E-W) defined by low earthen bank (H 0.25m) with external fosse (D 0.25m) to W, N and E; scarp (H 1.4m) to S. Field fence to W now removed but faint trace of fosse noted. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 1: West Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1992). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 14 January 2009
