What is recorded here

Depicted on OS 6-inch map (1842) as 'Parochial School'. Gabled 3-bay, single-storey structure (5.7m N-S; 10.4m E-W) built on rocky platform to N of Enniskean. Pointed windows on S and E elev.; chimney on N wall. Remains of porch entrance to W. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 1: West Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1992). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 14 January 2009
