In pasture, atop rise on edge of steep precipice directly overlooking Mealagh River to N and NW. Originally circular area (diam. 32.1m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (H 1.2m) NE->WNW, with external fosse (D 1.5m) ;possible entrance to SE (Wth 4m), with causeway. Interior planted with deciduous trees; N half eroded away. Upon inspection Myler (1998, 86) noted that 'there are many young oak trees growing in the interior of the fort'. He also notes that there are some folk stories and tales associated with the site.
