In pasture, atop drumlin. Platform (38.5m N-S; 37.3m E-W) raised 2.75m above surrounding ground level; enclosed by earthen bank (H 1m) W->NNE; external fosse (D 1.1m); counterscarp bank (H 1.19m) NW->N. Entrance to NNE (Wth 4.2m), with causeway. Myler (1998, 21) describes the site as being 'heavily planted with dense coniferous trees'. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 1: West Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1992).
