In 1992 several mounds, 'some round, some rectangular' were recorded in this field on the NE side of Kilcaskan Graveyard (CO103-003001-). Cork County Council has subsequently created a car park at this location and there is now no visible trace of these possible hut sites. According to local tradition, they were the remains of 'monks cells' when St. Caskan had a monastery here.
