What is recorded here

On rough hill pasture, high up on the N-facing slopes of Tooreennamna Mountain. The remains of a circular hut site (4.1m E-W; 4m N-S) defined by a collapsed stone wall (T 0.55m; H 0.3m) SW-SE and by intermittent stones which protrude through the base of a bank SE-SW. The level interior is raised (H 0.3m) at N and cut into the upslope at S to compensate for the hillslope. An upright slab at the SE may indicate one side of the entrance. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 5' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009). Date of upload: 22 December 2009
